I used to help him out, but one time he bit me right near my eye when he got scared. Nothing serious just a little cut...but it was sooooo embarassing explaining to people that I got bit in the face by a sausage dog.Originally posted by Arcadia@11 January 2004 - 12:27

There was a dog shown on UK TV recently that used an ordinary stairlift. So I guess training is the answer.
I trained a dog(Pyrenean Moutain Dog) once to close the door. I started of with smarties behind the door so that the dog had to push the door to get them. I then rewarded it with a bag of crisps every time it closed the door on command. I then tried it in various locations, pub etc. without looking at or pointing to the door. It did it every time. So it knew what a door was. It earned many a packet of crisps in the pub.
The best way to keep a secret:- Tell everyone not to tell anyone.
see I came to this thread trying ot be constructive - but al I cabn remember is that a dog needs to get up to a nother level - did it hahappen?Originally posted by Arcadia@11 January 2004 - 13:32
erm, this may be a stupid idea, but sausage dogs are reasonably small right? So surely you could get her a saddlebag type thing, recordbag even, that the dog could sit in and she could carry it around the house and up stairs etc....if it was too much for her she could use it for purely taking it up and down the stairs with her...give her some exercise as well
Something like this would be ideal, if you pulled the flap back
very true, you often see little dogs in the wicker baskets on the front of old people's bicycles
That's a great idea...brings a whole new meaning to "doggie bag"Originally posted by RGX@11 January 2004 - 13:46
